My name is Cindy Anderson. I have been a teacher for twenty years. I began as a substitute teacher, then worked as an assistant at the elementary level for eight years. Presently, I teach middle school (6 – 8 grades). I have taught ESL and sheltered ELA classes since 2013. I received my BA in English from the University of New Mexico and my MAT/ESL from Meredith College in Raleigh.
I have a philosophy that traveling, just like reading, can make you smarter. In my mind, travel is the best way to keep expanding as a person. My family and I have traveled to 45 of the 50 states in America, and fifteen different countries. It has helped me realize that people are mostly good and kind. Turn off the bad news, take a trip, change your perspective, and begin to realize that the world, and the people in it, are quite wonderful.
The last thing about me is that I love animals. I have had many cats, dogs, and a wide array of farm animals when I was growing up. Now my family and I have five very spoiled cats. I’ll post some pictures.
