My name is Cindy Anderson. I have been a teacher for twenty years. I began as a substitute teacher, then worked as an assistant at the elementary level for eight years. I taught middle school (6 – 8 grades) MLL for twelve years. I taught ESL/MLL and sheltered ELA classes since 2013. I received my BA in English from the University of New Mexico and my MAT/ESL from Meredith College in Raleigh.
I have a philosophy that traveling, just like reading, can grow your brain and make you smarter. In my mind, travel is the best way to keep expanding as a person. My family and I have traveled to 45 of the 50 states in America, and fifteen different countries. It has helped me realize that people are mostly good and kind. Turn off the bad news, take a trip, change your perspective, and begin to realize that the world, and the people in it, are quite wonderful.
The last thing about me is that I love animals. I have had many cats, dogs, and a wide array of farm animals when I was growing up. Now my family and I have four very spoiled cats. I have posted some pictures with cats that have moved on to cat heaven. I will update this page with new pictures. I also hope you read the story of Billy the Kitty–he’s our newest kitty.
